Some of the key pointers towards getting your website noticed and indexed are :-
A) Get links from other sites to your own. Here are some of the link exchange programns that we have used and if you are on a tight budget, they do offer a limited but useful free programn :-

B) Ensure that you do not have more than 50 links going from any one page as this will harm your ranking (include your internal links and ads in this figure). By our initual mistake in this regard, we did a bit of research and now believe that directory type catagorising of respective links help you maintain a positive structure to your reciprocal link exchanges.
C) Ensure that linking sites are similar in content and trade to your own. By forming a directory for your link partners.
D) Search engines will rank your page higher if a certain amount of traffic can be gained through and from your links (this can be termed as your link popularity) therefore, take the time to find out where your link will be placed on the linking site and try not to link to sites that have robots text restricting crawl of the link page. Also ensure that linking sites do not hide their link page from their web traffic. The most common way of doing this is by only showing one 'link partners page' with approximately 25 links on it, whilst puting new sites (like your own) on other strategicaly placed pages that cannot be found by their public. The test of this is to find your site link manualy by going from their home page to the page where your link is (do not follow the URL given to you). Do not use a search box as, who is going to type in your url into someone elses site ? and therefore a search box is just false recommendation.
E) Check your links partners regularly as some have a rather nasty practice of removing link partners from their sites after a short time and thus gaining one way links to your detriment.
F) Get your site listed in web directories as these do pass on positive traffic. Here is some of the web directories that we have found and listed our site on to great effect :-

G) If you have the finance available, find high ranking sites that will put your link (for a fee) onto one of their high ranking pages. This is a great way of getting one way links that add to your page ranking.
H) Our final tip is - make the most of your web traffic. If you have a look at other sites CPR (Click to purchase ratio), you will realise that some of the traffic does not find exactly what they are looking for and rather than have them leap off your site and go to another, give your customers a better chance by guiding them to other sites whilst making some money from these referals.
